Intermission #7

Posted on September 14, 2022September 15, 2022 by Jack Sinn

Hello.

So for today’s intermission, I combed through an old DeviantArt accounts for this content. Now, keep in mind the following: 1) These are all 20 years old at this point and 2) I’M BEING VERY VULNERABLE RIGHT NOW SO PLEASE BE NICE LMAO.

The following are collages of the cast of what’s now Interpersonal Chemistry, drawn when I was in high school. Again, these are ancient relics, TWO DECADES OLD.

Mitch, obviously!

Mitch and the character that would eventually become Calvin.

Jodie and Toby.

Anyway, Interpersonal Chemistry used to be about Mitch, Jodie, and Toby when they were teenagers, growing up in mid-1990s (I wanna say 1994?) Seattle (or rather, the fictional suburb of Juniper) during peak grunge era. The-Character-That-Would-Become-Calvin was introduced in its sequel [REDACTED] (I’m recycling that title so I’m hesitant to share it just yet). There was no wrestling, just a lot of drama and slice-of-life based content. I guess it was supposed to be like…an edgier version of Felicity or something? Who knows.

EDIT: FOUND TWO MORE!!!

Mitch Calvert is 29 years old, an independent wrestler, and a goddamn mess. After suffering an injury during a match and being put on the shelf, he gets dumped by his boyfriend and is forced to yet again pick up the pieces of his life. He struggles with his self worth, combats addiction and trauma, and begrudgingly falls in love with his new roommate that he definitely has no chance with.

But what can you do? It's either take life's beatdown without putting up any resistance, or grab a steel chair and start swinging back.
